Holiday Favorites

I make sure that every holiday is something special at our house.  I've carried on the many traditions that I experienced growing up remembering how special those times were for my brothers and I.  My Mom always worked very hard to make every moment special, paying close attention to the small details.  I don't think we appreciated how much work my Mom, (and Dad) went through until we were grown and had our own families.  It really IS a lot of work!

My holiday preparations usually start a few weeks in advance except for Christmas which I start a full month prior.  Planning ahead (and my handy dandy notebook) is my key to success, and yes, sanity.   I've found that if I plan ahead and stay organized, I actually get to enjoy more of the celebration.

MORE TO COME

One of my favorites:
And the Grinch, with his Grinch-feet ice cold in the snow, stood puzzling and puzzling, how could it be so? It came without ribbons. It came without tags. It came without packages, boxes or bags. And he puzzled and puzzled 'till his puzzler was sore. Then the Grinch thought of something he hadn't before. What if Christmas, he thought, doesn't come from a store? What if Christmas, perhaps, means a little bit more?
